Shut Your Piehole!
From Wikipedia
In the summer, in North Texas, as in many other places, it is a good idea when riding through creek bottom road crossings, in the predawn darkness, to SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE!
Few of us are really needing that little extra bit of protein...
I really don't mind the taste of flies it's the consistency that sets me off. They tickle my throat as they go down as well. Spit'em out you say. That means they get to pass over my tongue twice and that's disgusting.
About the only thing I've seen those big "air tunnel" vents in helmets do is to allow bees to get IN your bonnet, but not out until after they have done what bees do after you get them royally irritated.

ReplyDeleteIt's gnats in the eyehole that get me. Oh, and bees in my bonnet.

ReplyDeleteI don't have much problems with getting them in my mouth, but gnats in the eyes are a big problem (dangerous too!)
ReplyDeleteWhen I leave eastern Kansas to ride in Colorado, I notice the bugs in my mouth taste better in the mountains. ;)
