That sign was removed over a year ago.
#2 Nowhere does it indicate the City of Phoenix owned up to having placed the sign, the city removed it, and I'd suspect an action more like the CycleDallas post from May 23, namely

http://cycledallas.blogspot.com/2009/05/make-your-rules-obey-ones-you-like.html

(so soon they forget!)

If someone steals a proper bike lane sign and bolts it next to the I-35E shoulder, it does NOT make the shoulder a legal bike lane, any more than it makes it OK to create your own "stop sign-free" route by taking down the stop signs along your route.

Regardless, it WAS an unusual combination, with CD and BFOC using the very same photo. It was just too much for me to resist!

And admit it, you like those cozy lanes, AND smoother roads. Admit it!Steve Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13650405341304401203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2523357558654725888.post-16741102824214550532009-07-13T09:11:39.373-05:002009-07-13T09:11:39.373-05:00The City of Phoenix signed it as a Bike Lane, reve...The City of Phoenix signed it as a Bike Lane, reverting to Bike Route months later (last week). As long as the sign said "Bike Lane", it legally was one.

http://azbikelaw.org/blog/phoney-bike-lane-sign-on-chandler-blvd/#more-79PM Summerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08841490283131875648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2523357558654725888.post-31481907791751989172009-07-12T19:49:53.046-05:002009-07-12T19:49:53.046-05:00Actually, when I said "warm," I wasn'...Actually, when I said "warm," I wasn't thinking of "North Texas burn your feet off in August" warm. I was thinking more like cuddly snow bunnies in front of a fire at a ski lodge, with a frosty Labatt's in hand warm.Steve Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13650405341304401203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2523357558654725888.post-40641867003788197292009-07-12T19:39:13.765-05:002009-07-12T19:39:13.765-05:00"Happiness is a warm, cozy lane that not even..."Happiness is a warm, cozy lane that not even an idiot thinks anybody ought to share" - well said.
