Theory and Practice and Canada

The Queen's Canadian Flag. More Properly Know as "The Royal Standard of Canada"
“In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.” In theory, this quote is from Yogi Berra. In practice, there are at least two other claimants.

In theory, I’ll be in Canada this week. In practice, I’ll be in Quebec. Looks like a return to warm woolen socks!

  2. -13C tonight. I thought I was lost. And then I saw it. And another. And after I saw the third one I knew it truly was the sign of one great nation (even if a bit chilly). And what, you might wonder was that sign ? No, it wasn't WalMart. It was TIM HORTONS.

  3. Oh, man....Tim Horton was a great NHL defenseman, a real "iron man". Played for the Buffalo Sabres at the end of his career after a long and distinguished career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He started the Tim Hortons chain while still playing hockey. Plenty of times I've been back home to Western New York and stopped at a Tim Hortons on the NYS Thruway to pay my respects...and eat.

Tim died in a car wreck on the QEW. According to Wiki, he was speeding and a little, shall we say, blitzed. Sad.
