Sorry to hear about Inky. How old was he/she?
14. He's not quite checked out but has trouble getting up. Makes it a real question if I have to leave town.
Inky has a very kind face. I'm sorry to hear he's winding down... good long life though... I don't suppose any of us could ask for more.
In his prime, Inky presented two dangers to visitors. Licking and that massive tail. When younger he was afraid to swim until one day he just started. Then he upheld the "Labrador" reputation. He still wants to swim, but no longer can get out of the water without major assistance.
He's in no pain, which helps. So enjoy those dogs. Their time is short; on a larger scale, it's true of us all..
Shawlee is one the most feared type of dogs for burglars! The type that might cause them to trip and fall in the dark! (I sure hope she doesn't read this... I think she deleted the last post!)
while i understand that we all have to go one day, when it is our time to go, my heart always goes out to the beloved family and friends of the one departing. i wish you and the pup all the comfort that you deserve.
peace!
Inky lasted longer than any of us could have imagined last August. But his borrowed time finally ran out.
