Encountered yesterday, on the way home. The road was clear on the way in to work, and again this morning. The Honda Element following me decided to turn around. I turned pedestrian and simply walked the road bike around the tree. Sometimes, violating The Land Rover Rule is an easy decision, though I COULD have driven it across that nice lawn had I felt like a scofflaw...

The ability to easily dismount and skirt contruction, newly fallen trees, etc, is a super bonus to the bike.
After Hurricane Charley, I went out on my bike to survey the damage. It was the only way to get around for 2 days. Almost every road in Winter Park looked like that photo.
